Note about rules & play. In “approaching the ball” in how to play the game, instructions say “each hole starts in this manner” (each player turning over two cards to determine who goes first). However, a recommended alternative is that the player who won the previous hole would “tee off” first on the next hole (hand). Players would still turn over two cards each, but that would not have anything to do with who plays first

Scoring System

The scoring system is one of the things that makes Sandtrap Golf so unique. A score card is included in the game. However, you can use any score card from any golf course to play with Sandtrap. Grab extra cards from your favorite home course, or get a score card from that course you’ve always wanted to play, like Augusta, Pebble Beach, Pinehurst!

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. how many players can play?

Just like golf, between 2 and 4 players. You can add more players with an additional deck of cards.

  2. how long does it take to play?

Depends on how many players and how many holes you play. 2 players playing 9 holes would take about 20 minutes. 4 players playing 18 holes would be less than an hour.

  3. How does scoring work?

Each hand is a hole. Each player totals up their hand, then the Sandtrap Scoring System equates your total to a score (Par, Birdie, Bogey, etc.) based on whether that hole is a par 3, 4 or 5.

  4. what is a round?

You can play a 9 hole round or 18 hole round. Just like golf, a 9 hole par round is 36 and an 18 hole par round is 72.

  5. what is the object of the game?

Just like golf, the goal is to get the lowest possible score for the round.
